OUR GUEST SPEAKER!

BRENDON AYANBADEJO, founding partner of West Coast Fitness, is a first-in-class operator of over fifty Orangetheory Fitness franchises. As the area developer and first to market in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles Counties in addition to the following cities San Mateo, Walnut Creek, Fresno, Sacramento, Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio, Brendon and his team own/operate and oversee an additional 15 OTF franchisee units. Internationally his team also operates three units in Melbourne, Australia. Ayanbadejo has won various intercompany awards as an operator as well as the multi-unit operator MVP award from Franchising.com. While continuing to build the West Coast Fitness brand Ayanbadejo’s team continues to develop white space as well as specialize in mergers and acquisitions of additional OTF locations.

Prior to franchising, Brendon attended George Washington University where he received his MBA in 2013. Admittedly it took Brendon three years to complete his MBA while he juggled playing in the NFL and being a student at the same time. Brendon is a Super Bowl Champion with the Baltimore Ravens. His professional football career spanned 13 years. While in the Natiional Football League Brendon was a team captain as well as an NFL Players Association Union Representative. Three of Brendon's professional seasons  were spent in the Canadian Football League.

While in the NFL Ayanbadejo was also a surrogate for President Barack Obama's administration. Ayanbadejo promoted LGBTQ+ rights and Obamacare. He also assisted  First Lady Michele Obama with NFL play60, an initiative that brought health and fitness into elementary school curriculums. As an LGBTQ+ advocate Brendon spoke on the steps of the Supreme Court as well as helped  in the State of Maryland's legalization of marriage equality.  Brendon’s mission for equal rights has brought him to give speeches at Fortune 500 companies such as Visa, Procter and Gamble, Johnson & Johnson in addition to, The Ellen Show, Anderson Cooper, as well as Harvard's Kennedy Law School.

Brendon is a serial entrepreneur. He is a limited partner in many startup companies from Impossible Burger to Lime. He is also a limited partner and works very closely with Next Play Capital, one of a handful of black-owned and operated venture capital firms in the world. Brendon’s mission is not just equality but also diversity, inclusion, and equity for disenfranchised groups. Brendon sits on the diversity, inclusion, and equity board of Orangetheory Fitness, a global brand that boasts over 1,400 units worldwide. The billion dollar brand was founded by a woman, Ellen Latham.
