What I do at Virtual:
Whatever needs to be done.  I’m where the buck stops for clients and staff. My job is to help our clients succeed and help provide our staff with the insight and inspiration they need to be at their best.

Years of experience:
20 years at Virtual, 25+ years management experience

Past employment:

  • Massachusetts Hospital Association, VP and CIO
  • Senior staff positions at state, local and national campaigns (including one of the only statewide wins by an independent in U.S. history)

B.A., Government, Harvard University; Master of Public Policy, Harvard University

Favorite client story:
Being a part of transforming the PCI Security Standards Council from an idea into an organization that influences payment card transactions all over the globe.

Hidden talent:
Creating clever out of office messages. Check them out at

What I do for fun:
I’m buying thicker and thicker wetsuits to attempt to extend the east coast surfing season to twelve months. I don’t understand why no one wants to come with me when the water is 33 degrees, air is 15 degrees and the wind is howling.

I can’t live without:
Having fun and laughing every day.

Important life lesson:
You spend more time with the people at work than you think. Have some fun!

Key to success:
Never accept the “way we’ve always done it” or “this is too hard.” There’s a way.

Community involvement:

  • Harvard Varsity Club, (22,000 member organization supporting the largest college athletic program in the country), Chairman
  • Massachusetts Hospital Association, Board of Trustees
  • Melrose Wakefield Healthcare, a local hospital system, Board of Trustees
  • Friends of Harvard Water Polo, Chairman
  • Harvard Club of Boston, Board Member

Favorite movie, book, food, music/band/song:

  • Woody Allen’s “Love and Death”
  • “What it Takes” about the 1988 presidential campaign—some extraordinary characters in that race. And it shows that politics can be an honorable profession.
  • Any kind of “road food” that’s bad for you
  • I’m “this close” to just following Bruce Springsteen around the world. I saw him 18 times in 2016 alone.
  • Thunder Road is the best song ever written. Bruce is about the only music I listen to.

We look forward to seeing you online!
